20 Pieces of Relationship Advice You Shouldn't Ignore

They say that opposites attract but at the core of every great relationship, there are some elements that both parities agree on. Things like religion, goals, integrity and family life are usually very important. Know what is important to you and learn what is important to them and don't compromise on your core values just because you don't want to be alone.

In a healthy relationship, both parties are comfortable. It is convenient and equally as fulfilling for both people and nothing has to be forced. If you find yourself trying to force everything happen exactly the way you want it to, there may be a problem there.

Now, no one is saying that you have to get it on in the middle of a Wal-Mart, but don't be afraid to show your partner that you're attracted to them. Depending on where you are, PDA can be inappropriate but there is nothing wrong with holding hands or sneaking a kiss no matter where you are.

Love is a beautiful thing but those beautiful moments can be overwhelmed by daily routines. Don't forget what made you hand over your heart in the first place.

Being in love is exciting. A great way to keep that excitement alive is to surprise the one you love with something special. Whether it's a trip to their favorite vacation spot or a single rose after a long day at work, everyone loves a nice surprise

No one dreams of becoming an enabler. You can't be all take and no give if you expect to keep your partner happy. Remember, you have to bring something positive into every relationship you want to last.

Trust is the most important thing in a healthy relationship. If your partner can't trust you, how can you expect the relationship to grow?

Some people will ditch their friends when they get into a serious relationship. This is normal to a certain point but when you give up every other relationship or interest outside of your partner, it's a bad move for everyone involved.

Life is serious enough without having a dull relationship. Create lasting memories with your partner that involve laughing and having a good time together.

So, you had a bad day at the office, your car died on the drive home and you had to walk home in the rain. That is not your partner's fault so don't treat them like it is. Never take your problems out on your partner and never get involved with someone that takes theirs out on you.

Nobody is perfect but when we fall in love, we can easily forget that. A person may seem like an angel until you get to know one another better. Just remember that everyone has faults. Don't ignore these, instead learn to deal with and accept them if you want to enjoy a healthy relationship with your partner.

Don't just assume the roles of a relationship. The guy doesn't always have to take out the trash and fix the car and the woman doesn't always have to wash the dishes and cook dinner. If these are the things they want to do, that's great but never go into a relationship assuming what the other person's "title" needs to be.

A healthy relationship is not managed by one person, it is a team effort. When it comes to planning for the future and making decisions like job opportunities, spending money or relocating, it's important to discuss it together.

Don't let the fire die just because you've been together for a long amount of time. It is more important than ever to keep romance alive when the couple has committed to each other for years or a lifetime. Go to that romantic dinner, light some candles and do something
unexpected just like those early dating days.

No one likes to admit to being wrong, especially when the argument was a really good one! But it's like the old saying goes "would you rather be right or happy?"

It's always worth it to just say sorry. By owning up to mistakes, you show your love and dedication to your partner. Believe us, they will probably find a way to show you how much they appreciate it!

The key to a healthy relationship is quality time. Everyone has a busy schedule so sometimes you have work hard to make the time for each other but it's worth it.

At the end of the day, a relationship is nothing without support for one another. Comfort your partner, make their life easier. Encourage them to chase their dreams. Root for them and make sure they support you too.

Every couple has conflict, it is just part of life when bringing two people together. They will not always see eye-to-eye. It's important to know how to deal with conflicts when they come up and have a mature way of dealing with things.
